How to Play Fiery Rumba Flamenco Guitar
with Your FREE Online Guitar Course!
When I first picked up a guitar I had this dream to join a rock band and play for millions of people all over the world however, after years of practice and a dozen bands later my dream slowly began to disintegrated.
It unfortunately became extremely difficult relying on other musicians and it was really tough earning a living playing for touring top 40 bands. I also realized that playing as a guitarist with very little vocal ability (and too shy to sing) would make it tough for me to become a soloist until… Something Happened that Changed Everything…
I was invited to attend a Natalie Cole concert and opening the show was this performer with a nylon string guitar, a bass player and a percussionist. I sat direct center, front row mezzanine with my wife, fully enveloped in the magical sound originating from Ottmar Liebert’s flamenco guitar…
My soul was lifted to an intangible peaceful realm where worries and problems of this world don’t exist. It felt like God was saying to me… “Enjoy, this one’s for you.”
This music was energizing and beautiful; everyone here is absolutely loving it! I could do this!!!
I then began creating my own cool melodies on a nylon string guitar and also started playing simple melodies from the music that people loved to hear. I then began applying all my guitar skills to this new rumba flamenco guitar form and what followed has been an amazing 20 year journey playing the guitar!
Now it’s time to pay it forward to everyone that would like to learn this wonderful guitar style.
